The designed building of the European Solidarity Centre adopted the form of a corten crystal. The dynamic body of the building commemorates important historical events and the beginning of political change. The building stands out clearly amidst the ruins of the shipyard site, while hitting the context through the use of materials and textures appropriate to the shipbuilding process.
